Stuck at Home

Well, it's been almost a week since the Z or I have even stepped foot out of the house (besides the brief outing to take Chelsea to the airport Saturday). A whole week . . . wow. Other things I haven't done? wear real clothes, styled my hair, put on makeup. It's kind of nice to have an excuse to bum around the house, for a little while. But I'm starting to feel (and look) like a hermit. It finally looks like we might be over this flu, and I really need to get to the grocery store. Maybe we'll go tomorrow. If the weather isn't too bad. For the sake of my sanity, I really hope the weather isn't bad.

Sick Baby!

I love being a mom, but I will admit that there are some downsides. Take today, for instance, Paige and I lay in bed sick all day long; we each have a fever, cough and a runny nose. We finally got up around 7:15 pm for a bath and then it was right back to bed. I was sick of lying around so after Paige went to sleep for the 3rd time tonight, I gathered up enough energy to sit here and type this entry. Some of you have seen little P's sad face when she's not feeling good; I've included a picture from today after her bath for those of you who haven't. It's no fun to take care of a sick baby (Paige has had more than her fair share of being ill), but it's worse when you can barely take care of yourself. The only up side today was that we got in a lot of cuddling time.

Puppy Coat

I went in to Gymboree today (you know, 'just to look') and I found this adorable coat for just $6.99. I couldn't resist!

Paige's Latest Tricks

Paige has perfected a few things this week. The most important being that she started saying "mama"! I am so proud :) She still says "dada" way more often though, much to Ben's pleasure. Also, as of last night she is a ballerina. Well, she only has one move, the arabesque. She holds onto the coffee table, leans forward and extends one leg behind her. It is so cute! She did it holding onto the back of the pew in sacrament meeting today too. She holds it for a long time! I can't wait to get a picture. Her other latest tricks include getting into all kinds of things with doors or lids: kitchen drawers, bathroom cabinets, the trash cans, etc; cruising expertly around furniture and walls; singing loudly along with the hymns in church; splashing as much as possible in the bath; and, my least favorite, climbing the stairs. She thinks this is great. Sigh . . .

Say Farewell to the Magnum

With great sadness I am announcing that we put Ben's magnum up for sale today. Unfortunately Ben won't be able to take his car with him to Afghanistan, so no use keeping it around. It's been a good car for the year we've had it, and other than getting 3 flat tires in the space of a few months it hasn't given us any trouble. If you or anyone you know is interested, you can see our ad here. BTW all 4 tires are pretty much brand new :)

Happy New Year!

What better way to begin the new year than with a new project! I guess I'm a little behind the curve, but here's my very own family's blog :) I've posted a bit on my extended family's blog over the past year but feel it's finally time to have my own since Ben will soon be leaving us once again, and he'll need an easy place to keep updated on our lives. It will probably also be useful for others to see what's going on with him!
