I imagined she'd pick out a cute bear or maybe a puppy and we'd find an adorable outfit and the trip would almost be worth the $40 it'd cost for a stupid stuffed animal, 'cause at least it'd be cute and we'd have fun.
I was wrong.
Paige had fun, I was miserable (why was everything she picked out SO tacky?!), and we came home with quite possibly the ugliest creature ever built at Build-A-Bear.
Paige adores her frog, has undressed it too many times to count (only to ask me to put it's clothes right back on) and keeps referring to it as a boy and having it kiss me to turn me into a frog.
I think it might be awhile before we go back there.

Ha ha! Same thing happened to us. Malia's first trip there (for her 2nd birthday) she picked out a turtle. WHAT?! LOL. I decided that if I wanted something specific to be built, I'd have to build it myself. So the next time we went, we both built one.
And I made sure mine was as cute as possible.
However - I have to say... I'm sorry; that frog is much uglier than Malia's turtle. LOL. ;)

Good for you though for letting her be her and pick out what she wanted. I know there are so many times I try to steer my children in a certain direction (lately- what my 7 year old wants to wear to school and birthday parties) and it's hard to choose my battles. In the grand scheme of things, I'd rather have more say in steering her spiritually in the right direction rather than in the fashion direction, so I've let most of it go! I should send you a picture of what she picked out for Valentine's spirit day last Friday! You'd die! PS- Coralee still sleeps with her bear from Build A Bear that she picked out 5 years ago- they didn't haven frogs back then or I'm sure she would have picked that! :)
Yes, I think it would win the ugliest prize. I am laughing so hard Matt was wondering what was so funny and came and got a laugh out if it himself.
That is hilarious. James has a dog named Two from there, but we made it when he was very young. All he picked to go with it was flags.
